Our Story
In 2013, our journey began from the comfort of home, where we started selling second-hand dresses. As our passion grew, so did our ambitions. When the landlord voiced concerns about the influx of visitors to our compound, we took it as a sign to formalize our venture. Thus, we made the leap and established an official store in town.
In 2017, our dreams materialized into reality as we proudly inaugurated our store in the bustling heart of Apia. The response was overwhelming, fueling our determination to expand our reach further.
In 2023, we marked another milestone by extending our presence beyond borders. Setting our sights on Tonga (where the owner grew up), we unveiled a new store in the vibrant capital, Nukualofa. This expansion not only symbolized growth but also reinforced our commitment to providing exceptional fashion experiences to diverse communities.
How did we get the name House 88?
The origin of our store name is rooted in our humble beginnings. As mentioned above in 2013 operating from home, our address happened to be #88 on the street. Though we didn't have an official business name, our customers affectionately referred to us as "House 88." When we transitioned into a formal business entity in 2017, we decided to retain the name, honoring its significance.
What makes it truly special is that it not only serves as a reminder of our modest start but also reflects the bond with our customers. It's a name bestowed upon us by our loyal clientele; we didn't choose it ourselves. This connection with our customers makes "House 88" more than just a name—it's a symbol of our journey and the relationships we cherish.
